The Solidarity Academy We would like to invite you to the first edition of The Solidarity Academy, organized by The Tertio Millennio Institute and The European Solidarity Centre. Taking place between 19th and 24th of July 2008 in Gdansk, it is available to students and young activists from Poland and from Central and Eastern Europe – mainly from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Estonia, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Lithuania, Latvia, Russia, Ukraine and other new democracies. Academy group includes 70 students in total. Classes, given in English, will regard issues revolving around social change, social participation and development education. Lectures will be given by famous political leaders and experts such as Maciej Zięba OP, prof. Jerzy Buzek, prof. Andrzej Paczkowski, dr Aleksandr Milinkiewicz and President Lech Walesa We support 20 fellowships for Poland and 50 for East Central Europe, which include tuition fees, lodging, meals and excursions. Only train travel expenses of foreign participants will be covered by the organizer. (economy class, Plackart). The participants are responsible for their health insurance and visa expenses.
